Life continues....

As the fans blow downstairs, drying out what was left of our flood, our life has resumed a sense of normalcy. We realize had blessed we are. The Bible tells us that God "sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:45). However, Jerome was hearing stories at work of people still shoveling out mud and sludge, and here we are with our few fans.

Many people who homeschool are certainly not blessed with a huge basement. So doing with less should not  -- and really is not that hard. After all, the command of Deuteronomy 6 has certainly not been rescinded ("And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up"). Since we continue walking we keep teaching in it.

The white board has found its way to the breakfast room.

Mary is concentrating on math in the so-called "fancy dining room". In the 7 years we have lived here, I can count on one hand how many times someone has actually eaten in this room. Mostly it is now Dad's study den.

Riane prefers Mom and Dad's bedroom.

Braydon was in the living room classifying creatures for biology when Wokelle decided to help out.

The beauty of our messy lives. They happen amid all the doings of the day with 5 year olds listening into 9th grade activities and someone learning in a quiet bedroom or spread out in the breakfast room.

Two boys even lost some teeth today.

ADOPTION UPDATE:

The central registry reports are finally back. They are awaiting a couple of signatures and then our profile will be passed onto the matching department. Things are beginning to move.
