We started on Saturday afternoon with a gathering of friends and family for a good meal and an egg hunt.
Little Josiah's first Easter!
Gathering for the big Egg Hunt. We had so many stuffed eggs prepared we didn't even give the kids a number. However, the wind was really whippin' -- we may find some of these eggs next year!
The door is open and they are off!
Wokelle headed in a different direction and hit a gold mine.
The cutest things was watching Corey shake every egg -- they were all full.
Way to go Joanne.
On Sunday morning we rose VERY early. The kids were in the car by 5:30am. Jerome leads the Young Adult group and we were signed up to cook breakfast for those attending the sunrise service.
All willing hands were put to work -- even to crack eggs.
Many hands make the work light.
Riane was scheduled to play during the church service and during communion. She was practicing while we were cooking and it really made the cooking work more enjoyable.
After the breakfast we helped with the children's easter party that took place during the service. At the end of the day all turned out well and we headed home tired.
We still had baskets to hand out. I told the kids it would be small and practical this year. They received new flip-flops and goggles. Even so, they all seemed pretty pleased with their gifts.
As they tried on their new shoes I had only two thoughts in my head. If they "don't stand for something they will fall for anything." And how I hope they use their shoes to walk in service to their Lord.
