World Vision 30 Hour Famine

This year Mary, Riane and Braydon will be participating in our church's teen group 30 hour famine for World Vision. The famine takes place during the last weekend in February. They stop eating after lunch on Friday and meet at the church that evening. A few people will be opening their homes for devotions and fellowship. After the kids travel around they will stay at the church and Saturday morning some more events will be planned for them. This year they have even decided to fast more than food and give up technology. That means no cell phones or playstation, etc. during the lock-in. They will focus on prayer for the World's Hungry. Fasting and prayer is very scriptual and God always calls us to remember and serve the poor.

In preparation the kids have made T-shirts and are seeking financial sponsers to donate to World Vision or prayer warriors to pray for them during the big weekend.

You can find more information about the 30 hour famine at http://www.30famine.org/. Please leave a comment or e-mail if you will be praying for them. I am sure it would encourage them to know that many were uplifiting them. If you would like to donate to World Vision by sponsoring one of the kids, please e-mail me and I will give you more information.
