We are starting to climb back in the saddle of a regular routine this week. I started school. Sort of.
We have a a 4 week on 1 week off schedule during the school year. During the one week off we introduce our new unit study and work on some study sheets together going over the scripture, character quality and hymn of the month. The children do chores and we are done for the day. I decided to have that as our first week of school to begin to slide us into a routine and next week we will add on the academic work.
It felt so good today to be back in it!
This weekend was quite the awesome time. We went to our friends' house for Ricky's birthday family fun trip. They have a pond and we could fish, paddle boat and eat s'mores. Ricky was in heaven. We pulled in fish after fish and they paddled the boat all over.
Mr. K teaches gun safety and found out Braydon's interest. He took Jerome, Riane and Braydon off and they got to shoot a couple of targets. Riane and Braydon are pretty good shots.
On Sunday, Ricky was officially 9 years old and he asked for chocolate cheesecake (what a good boy!). Grandma sent a Gamestop gift card and today he got a handful of new games.
The birthday season at our house is officially over. The next kid birthday does not arrive until January. Whew!
I am again having trouble with my digital camera, and the K family gave us a disposable for the night. Soon, pictures will come soon.
